Dollhouse Makeover - The Dining Room

Dollhouse Makeover - The Dining Room

So it's been a while since I've written about the dollhouse revamp - life you know.

But without wasting any more time, let's move on to the dining room part of the makeover.

I did the floors of the dining room a few years ago. I used plain craft sticks, cutting off the rounded ends, and glued them to the bottom to make it look like laminated flooring.

What I used for the dining room upgrade:

Modge

Scrapbooking paper

Laminating pouches

Printed pictures

Large button

White paint

Grey paint

Small craft ticks

Curtain cutoffs

Carpet cutoffs

For the back wall of the room, I used modge to glue some craft paper, creating a feature wall, with the two side walls white. I used small craft sticks, cut off the rounded edges and painted them white. I glued these sticks around the edges of the floor to make it look like skirting.

I cut off a square of old curtain and glued it over the window with a small craft skit to serve as a cornice. I printed some black and white rabbit pictures, laminated them and stuck them to the walls for some stylish wall art.

Using a large button, I painted the button black and glued a printed clock face to it and stuck it to the wall as well. Viola, a large clock for the wall.

One of my neighbors was kind enough to give me some of her cut off carpet, which I cut into a rectangle and placed on the floor in the middle of the room.

Lastly, I took the furniture my daughter already had, although it was originally blue, and painted it white and grey, for a more modish look.

The room came together very nicely. My daughter had some silver and porcelain tea set pieces which my mother gave to her, which she had in her old printer's tray.

All in all, the dining room was a quick and easy remodeling, and I have to admit I am more than happy with the outcome.
